The Lausanne Arts and Sciences Addition is part of a master planning strategy to develop the schools educational standards to meet the changes of the global workplace. This building would bring the arts and sciences under one roof with a variety of spaces including an art gallery, auditorium and music department as well as new science classrooms, labs and collaborative spaces.
The building was designed with a multi-story curtain wall glass system integrating a combination of louvers and movable screens. The purpose was flexibility and to create an environment that can change over time. Within the glass walls is a gallery space, lobby and auditorium which feeds upstairs to the labs and collaborative classroom spaces. These spaces feed to a roof terrace overlooking the entry to campus and adjacent administrative wing.
